Dungeon Crawl: More Smut for Chocoholics

Howdy, Dungeon Crawlers and welcome to my part of this week's offerings, brought to you by RTK Dungeon Crawl.. I'm bringing you an excerpt from the newly released More Smut for Chocoholics, published by House of Erotica. As co-editor with Kev 'Mitnik' Blisse, I claimed the privilege of writing two stories for the collection. This one is a delightful bit of femdom in which a naive young Spaniard stumbles upon a camp of Aztecs who have left their city in order to escape the strict regulations that ban women from consuming the revered cacao. 

September 8th, 1521

I have burnt the pages of this diary that recounted my earlier explorations in the Aztec territory. They are no longer of any consequence. Botany, geology, zoology... what attraction can these subjects hold to me, now that I have known Ixchel? I came here to test my mettle as an explorer, knowing that I would endure arduous treks, hunger, thirst, and great physical challenges. The prospect excited me; I knew that from my hardships would come great advancements in scientific knowledge. Little did I know the real danger, and ecstasy, I would face.

I stumbled right into the midst of their encampment before I realised. I was so thirsty, and the waterfall tumbled over the cliff face behind their clearing. It was all I focused on as I left the trees. But when Ixchel—for I know now the name of my captor, my enchantress—stepped in front of me, I turned and saw that I was surrounded by some dozen or so of the native people of this area.

I tried to utter some words of peace, thinking perhaps that a placatory tone would convince them I was no threat. But after the treachery and violence I had witnessed in their capital city, Tenochtitlan, I could understand their wariness of a Spaniard. How were they to know that I had joined the expedition out of a desire for knowledge and understanding rather than conquest?

Ixchel raised her arm towards me and placed one finger on my lips to silence me, then spoke a few words of command to her companions. Two men stepped to my sides; they removed my backpack and took my arms. The pressure they applied was gentle but firm and I allowed them to lead me, though it meant stumbling backwards over the stony ground, until I felt at my back the trunk of a tree. Another woman now came before me, carrying a length of twisted vine. She took it behind me and wound it about my wrists until I was bound inescapably in place.

You may wonder why I did not try to run, or to fight them off before I became helpless. And my rational explanation would be to call to mind my extreme exhaustion, the hunger and thirst I had endured in the three days since becoming separated from my companions and lost in this great valley. Perhaps I was indeed delirious. But the truth is that already Ixchel’s dark eyes had bewitched me. I felt as if I had no choice but to comply with her wishes. And it gave me the greatest of joy to surrender myself to her, a joy that I felt flare inside me like the heat of one of the Aztecs’ spiced dishes as it passes down one’s throat.

News: More Smut for Chocoholics

It's almost here! It seems like a long time ago that Kev 'Mitnik' Blisse said to me: "Do you fancy editing an anthology of chocolate-based erotica with me?" and I thought, Hmm, chocolate and sex, what's not to like?

Smut news

Feeling thoroughly stuffed yet? I've eaten too much, drunk too much and am looking forward to getting back to what passes for normality round these parts. 

I have some new year news for you. My fellow editor, Kev Blisse, and I seem to have underestimated the impact NaNoWriMo would have on our call for submissions for More Smut for Chocoholics. It looked like about 99% of my writerly contacts were taking part. We extended the deadline once, but with Christmas then looming we find ourselves still in need of some more chocolicious stories. 

We've now made a new deadline of March 31st 2014 with a view to launching the book alongside Smut by the Sea III at the Smut by the Sea event in Scarborough in June. All the details of the call are here.

I'd particularly like to see some unusual takes on the theme - a bit of fantasy, sci-fi, historical or futuristic. Let your imaginations go wild. And I'd like to thank everyone who has submitted so far for your hard work, and for being patient with us!

News round-up

You wait weeks for something good to blog about, then everything comes along at once. It's like the 53C along Derby Road. 

News on the More Smut for Chocoholics front. We've extended our deadline to December 15th. That's so all the folks doing NaNoWriMo will still have time to submit. What better way to wind down from a month of epic writing than with a nice little, light-hearted bit of smut? All the details are at the Smutters website.

In other news, I have a new story out. 'Twenty-four Surprises' is my contribution to the ebook Winter Warmers from House of Erotica. Ten stories with a festive feel. The call asked us to think about the warm glow of a fire, mulled wine, the colour red etc. So obviously I wrote a spanking story. No brainer. It's the tale of a couple's first foray into spanking 'proper' and centres around the treats in the advent calendars they've made for each other. I'll be back to tell you more about that one soon.

Divine and dangerous

Four weeks to go until the deadline for More Smut for Chocoholics, which I'm editing with the fantabulous Kev Blisse. All the details are at the Smutters website and the deadline is November 25th. Here's the sweet cover Kev's come up with too. It makes me hungry just looking at it. 

Need some inspiration? Here are some chocolate facts:

• Cocoa beans are the seeds inside the fleshy pods of the cocoa tree. So chocolate’s fruit. If you ignore what happens to it after those pods are harvested.
• The cocoa tree was regarded as sacred by the Aztecs and its Latin name Theobroma cacao means ‘food of the gods’.
• But it's West Africa which is now the centre of chocolate production, with 70% of the world's cocoa being grown there.
• Many of today's big confectionery companies were originally set up with Quaker backing, because chocolate was seen as a minor vice that could replace the much more sinful alcohol.
• It can be good for you – particularly dark chocolate – mostly because of the antioxidants it contains. Of course, it also contains large amounts of sugar and fat...
• Chocolate can be addictive because it contains several mood-enhancing chemicals.
• And that could explain why it’s been thought of as an aphrodisiac. In fact, the Aztecs banned women from consuming chocolate, such were its dangerous powers.
